Zoo Day

Pretty sure the title is cut from the cricut cartridge of the same name. LOL That cute background is also from cricut.

We have had memberships to the zoo for a long time so I started scrapping all the zoo photos. This page has my favorite pic that I've ever taken, of the mountain goats. I love this picture of them.

Zoo

Another visit to the zoo. There are going to be a lot of zoo pages coming up. I decided to get ALL zoo pics scrapbooked, and spent several crops just working on those.

yeah, I got sick of scrapbooking zoo. But you know, I mostly got it done. ;)Michelehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00654399549017739929noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716323873007911810.post-11883096077428465252017-03-23T12:50:00.000-05:002017-03-23T12:50:03.388-05:00Skulls, Yule and extra

Skullz

We made little felt skulls that Halloween inspired by sugar skulls as a homeschool craft. Kevin preferred to color his with markers, and I embroidered one with floss, after I sewed them into a little pillow.

We used them to decorate our little shrine to our loved ones who have passed away. No cricut but I did use a skull button from Charlenes Buttons.
Untitled

This came as a quick kit that I got for a couple dollars in a garage sale. I threw it together, certain I'd immediately find pictures for it. It's been 2 years, still looking for pictures LOL

I should look through my pro wedding pics... that's all that's left of my wedding to scrap.
Yule

Typical holiday layout! lol The kid opening presents.
The tree is cricut, though I may have glued the cut tree on the cardstock and cut around it so that it would be matted. The flower spray is from a flower swap I did with some ladies. PSG (1)

We go to a festival every year since 2014 so far. This is 2014, our first year. I took a lot of pictures since it was our very first time, and I wanted to scrap most of them. So this is the first set of pages, starting from packed up, where Kevin had just barely enough room in the back seat. lol

PSG (2)

Here's the second layout from PSG. It includes some cricut cuts I had done long before, and decided to use on the layouts somewhere. We had a great time except for me drinking a little too much one night, and falling. I ended up with a broken wrist, that I didn't find out till we returned home. :(

Ships

This ended up be a 4 page layout, though the 4th page is just photos and not so interesting.

The replicas of the Nina and Pinta sometimes stop in Davenport and we just happened to have little to do the day they were there. So we went and took the tour, learned about how the ships were made and how people lived on them in the old days. Most interesting was how these people lived on them now, sailing them all over.

Several cricut cuts too, a ship, the seagull and cloud, the larger bird.Michelehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00654399549017739929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716323873007911810.post-47667153396210688622017-03-21T12:31:00.000-05:002017-03-21T12:31:05.788-05:00game day, library, May Day

Let's Game!

I came home one morning from work to find my guys playing a game of daddy's. It was rather cute of them so I snapped a picture.

I was kind of surprised since it was a game that isn't easy even for adults but Kevin was having fun just being with dad.

Summer at the Library

Our library has some fun summer programs to get kids active in something other than video games during the summer. Crafts, sciences, engineering. We went to many of the activities that summer!

May Day

It's an annual tradition to do a May Pole at my friend's house every May. We dance the may pole, leap the fire, eat a lot of good food, drink and be merry.

I remember that this is Graphic 45 paper line, an unusually bright one. I cut a photo grid from my cricut for all the portrait pics. The goddess holding the earth is also a cricut image.Michelehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00654399549017739929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716323873007911810.post-78374392187999782332017-03-20T12:24:00.000-05:002017-03-20T12:24:08.733-05:00Bus and kitty

Kitty

We have a habit of finding kitties on our back porch. About half of them stay with us. My son would NOT allow us to find a home for this kitten, later named Freya. Cricut kitties.

the page is not really crooked... the photo is. lol
Last Day

This is the last day of school of the first year that I drove school bus. We have a big party on the last day, which is an early out day so no point going home between routes. I took lots of pics in that first year and scrapped them. Now I don't even care. lol Bus is from cricut.

Let it Snow

Also bus pics taken that first year. My kid rode on my bus that year since I homeschool and I felt he was too young to stay at home with dad sleeping upstairs. I had a short layover between schools where I could take a pit stop. Kevin was always happy to get off the bus. lol
halloween bed

My kiddo was actually not a fan of sleeping in his own bed, so I tried everything to get him into it at night. I had this cheap blanket that I put on it that October, and he said "I have a Halloween bed!"

It didn't work though, lol. He went to bed in it but was not in it come morning.
hi NASA!

A few years ago, NASA did a PR thing where you printed out their sign, put your location on it and took a photo and tagged them. They took all the thousands of photos and made a picture of the earth with them. It was super neat. I'm not sure how much of all that Kevin understood at the time, but he's always seemed to "get" social media in some ways (scary). I love the little light bulb cricut cut.

Theater

Several years ago, I participated in a cricut cut trade. I did not have the cricut cartridge that cuts these theater masks, but I had one that cut something that someone else wanted so we traded, she made these for me and I made hers.
Normally banner cuts hang with the points down. I tried something different, with the points up. I liked how it looked.
Along the bottom I put a bunch of dome glue dots and then pressed coordinating beads into the dots. I kind of liked final look of that.
Somewhere I saw a page where she used up packs of thickers that were nearly gone already by making lots of title words on one page. I liked it, and at the time I had lots of older packs of thickers and other alpha stickers that I really wanted to get rid of soon. It wasn't easy figuring out words that would work with the packs... there weren't many vowels left to work with in some of them. I am also rather fond of using the corkboard background paper and the washi tape holding down the photos... gives the whole layout a bulletin board look.
I can't remember what paper line this is. The prints were too busy on top of each other but if you separate the prints with a mat of cardstock behind them, it pops them out nicely.

I printed the photos as a collage in square by using 5x7 size paper then cutting off the excess white. I really like the resulting 5x5 size, plus, I'm not limited to one picture... yet the layout has a 1 picture feel.
Another title I'm not a fan of but this too was a pre-designed page kit. And the embellishments don't really go with the subject. LOL oh well. I'd already scrapped all the train pictures I had I think, so I had to make do with what I had.
Crazy Mary's Licker 'n Beer

No, it's not a misspelling. :) My stepmom chose the spelling on purpose. Hence the "crazy" part! I helped her make the sign by cutting the letters and shapes on my cricu
t out of vinyl! She loved it. Her little liquor shop was open until they built a Casey's in her tiny town, and she couldn't compete.
Dinos

This was a pre-made page that I found at JoAnn's craft store on an end-cap. I didn't buy them at first, but eventually they went on clearance and I'm okay spending less than a $1.40 on a page I just add photos to. lol

I added a little dino skeleton cricut cut to make the page more personalized. Other than that... glue, write, done!Michelehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00654399549017739929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716323873007911810.post-88048929539916503132017-03-14T12:37:00.000-05:002017-03-14T12:37:00.177-05:002015 layouts catch-up!

90th Birthday

I did not scrapbook as much in 2015 as I have in years past. But I must still catch them up. :) Unfortunately I don't know the order in which I made the pages, so I'll just have to post them.

My son's great grandmother's 90th birthday party. A spritzed doily, punches and a cricut background die-cut are features of this page.
All Boy

I actually don't like titles like this... I personally think a girl can do exactly the same with the same toys and I don't make assumptions on what kind of toys my kid wants to play with based on gender. He likes some traditionally "girl" stuff too. This page was a pre-designed page when I got it, and I just added a few things to it like the fake "stitching". Whenever I have a kit that comes with a title like this I've just used it. But that may change as I have so many pages with titles like this. I'm tired of them! lol
This is a kit I purchased from Irene at Little Masterpieces. I love having kits for Yule holiday pictures. Another friend of mine, Melissa, made this kit to sell, and I snapped one right up. I love the WRMK paper line this is from, and the kit was perfect for the memorial pictures for a friend of ours. I found out that Melissa also put memorial pics on her example layout. Great minds.
Wrist

I broke my wrist the summer of 2014 at a festival. It sucked.

But you know, that's life. Might as well scrapbook it. lol
The layout is mostly a stashbuster, with a simple circle background from the cricut.

Pow Wow

We have an annual pow wow that attracts famous dancers and singers from all over. I like to go watch, though I'm the only one in the family that does. I saw some amazing dancing.
The bear paw and feathers are cricut cuts.
Smiles Admitted

One of the page kits I made to sell. I later added pictures to it! It involved simple design, fussy cut tags along the top and cricut cut letters.
Stampy

Kevin loved Stampylongnose on Minecraft. He asked me to try cutting our Stampy on my new cricut Explore so I did.

It came out really well!

A long time ago when Cricut would make images available for a limited time to cut free, I cut out this chili pepper garland and then saved it. I used it on a page where we're at a mexican restaurant, celebrating with a friend. It went well with this We R Memory Keepers paper line.
Oh snap

Sometimes I have stuff left over after making a few layouts with a paper line, and there's too much for me to just get rid of it without some guilt. So I'll throw together a layout even if I don't have a photo for it, just like this one. Simple page, using up stash. I added a photo later.Michelehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00654399549017739929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716323873007911810.post-63102322858110863622017-03-10T21:33:00.000-06:002017-03-10T21:33:11.895-06:00Snap, Hoop, Judge

A quick layout thrown together with stash. Super quick and easy. The hard part was deciding to put a selfie on it. lol
Hoop

There were hula hoops out at the children's museum and the kiddo gave it a whirl. (see what I did there)

I used a circle background from cricut, and found a cute doggie doing a hoop as well. The title letters are probably Thickers.

Judge

I was asked to judge the scrapbooking at a little county fair in a nearby town. Naturally I asked them to take pics so I could scrapbook the experience. lol It was fun! A simple layout with stash.
Passionately Curious

Super simple page, loved the colors of this line.
Our public library has summer programs for kids, this one has to do with science. Mentos in the soda bottles. The science part was comparing the soda reactions... which soda shoots the highest geyser? Turns out it's Root Beer. lol
This is a kit I designed for sale to friends. I don't make a lot of kits, and when I do there's usually only 5 available for purchase. This one featured colored burlap flowers and offering a custom title cut on the cricut for each buyer.

Fun on the 4th

This is a kit I purchased from Little Masterpieces by my friend Irene.
I rarely buy patriotic papers, mostly because I don't have enough photos to use up an entire line of them... it's just easier to buy a page kit and be done with it.

LOL

Birthday Bash

Shortly after making this layout, I decided to purge my paper flower stash. So this set of pages was made with the intent of using up a bunch that I had. This is still during the time period where I was also adding a Charlene-handmade button to every page. :)

Coral Reef

Our museum had an exhibit of a community made knit/crochet coral reef. It was pretty darned amazing work. The museum tied it in with "clean waters" and the Mississippi. I used cricut cut images and title to embellish this layout.

County Fair

Not a lot special about this. I didn't feel the need to heavily embellish since the paper already came with the ferris wheel on it.

This is made from a kit I bought on clearance. It turned out better than I expected. I like how the cutouts frame the photos placed behind them.
I use kits to help me get past the initial creative block when I first start cropping. First time making grape jelly on my own. :)
The scallop circle shape in the background is cut on the cricut. The yellow and brown rosettes on either side are cut with the Tim Holtz sizzix dies. The red scallop border at top and bottom are from a border punch.
I found these pictures and instantly knew I had to cut out a clam somehow. I was amazed to find just what I needed on the Cricut cartridge Disney Princesses. Who'd a thunk it. lol Take your cuts to a new, cuter level, by adding googly eyes!

Kevin cracked me up by trying -and liking- clams at the chinese buffet place. It was just a phase, he's since stopped eating them after a few years of liking them. :)Michelehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00654399549017739929noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4716323873007911810.post-42654462702551066552014-05-17T14:39:00.000-05:002014-05-17T14:39:00.047-05:00Today

Hello!

I had this scrap, the yellow striped paper, which I had cut out a shape for a background, and I was going to toss it or give it to a friend who likes using up scraps. But then I had an idea to use it, but I couldn't find a photo(s) to go with it. So I made the layout anyway. Eventually I'll have a picture that will work. :)

The little hexagons were left over from cutting some beehive backgrounds, and I'd saved them just in case. I also had a strip of printed paper with little circles that I cut out to make the flower. Everything on the page is stash stuff, leftovers. The sun in the center of the circle flower was one of those canvas covered chip stickers from Studio Calico, painted with Distress paint.

Sometimes I get the urge to make a page design but don't have the photos for it, so I just make the page anyway. I always get the photos eventually. ;)

Yeah, I know, the title is over-used and and cliche. But I couldn't think of any thing else at the time. lol

I think the papers may be Basic Grey, but I don't remember. I just remember that they were very old stash and I wanted to use them up.

My friends and I had gone to a little product party (Grace Adele? a sub company of Scentsy) and the consultant had made these mustache sticks so naturally we had to take pictures. :)
Hello!

Here's some more old papers! I forgot to check what manufacturer these were but I'm guessing Basic Grey perhaps. :) Totally old stash. I also had a strip of velvet border trim that's been in my stash forever. I was very glad to use up stash stuff.

A few friends and I surprised our friend Katie with a little birthday celebration at her work. Super fun!
Greetings,

Well here's another layout from the Bo Bunny collection from my stash. I also found these acrylic embellishments printed with paisleys and the word "dream". I think they might be from an old Prima collection that I'd used up but hadn't used these embellishments. Their colors went perfectly with the papers so I had to use them. I think the colors of the papers went really well with the belly dancer's costumes.

Hi hi,

So, once I was finally back in the mood to think up pages, I pulled out an old collection of Bo Bunny papers. I bought them a LONG time ago! and I forgot to look at the name of the collection on the manufacturer strip. Loved the colors. :) I still have a lot of it left, since many of the papers I bought 2 of each.

When I was getting ready to write up this post, I realized I've forgotten to add the title. LOL so now I have to remember to put the title on before I stick it in an album.

My friends and I were celebrating a new baby, he's a cutie. :)
