Hello Summer!

Here's a cute layout I made as a kit for a few friends. I love Hello Kitty, though I have a son and no girls, sometimes I need to do something girly. lol  Anyway, I thought this came out rather well. I used the Hello Kitty font and Greetings cartridges for this. The papers are older My Mind's Eye, but really, a layout like this can be made from any papers.

Bus 87

September seems to be "back to school" month everywhere, but we will be homeschooling our son... however, I just started this year working part-time driving a school bus! My son gets to ride with me so we don't have to do any sort of day-care - what a great job perk!  So I decided I would do a page about me driving the bus (and my son riding along!).

Some of us Circle members got to use the Cricut Craft Room Exclusives for free during August! So I spent most of the past month and a half cutting things from those CCR exclusives, using my gypsy. In this case, I used the CCR exclusive Teresa Collins Basics, the honeycomb background, which I used to cut the Cricut Stencil material. I set it up on my gypsy to cut as large as it could on the mat, which you can also do on CCR.

Have you ever used the stencil material? It's SO EASY! I followed the settings instructions on the box:  Speed 3, Pressure 5, Blade Depth 6 and multicut 2.

The stencil cut perfectly! I actually cut two of these since the stencil sheet is 12x24, and gave one to a friend. :)

I used some spray mist (in this case, Ranger's Butterscotch) to spray the stencil and cardstock. Do you know the stencil has a sticky back? You just remove the backing and stick it to the cardstock (or other surface). It came right off the cardstock after I'd let it dry.  However, after I used this color, I realized it didn't "go" with my photos!

So I tried a different color, Glimmermist Jazz Blue. :)  This color was perfect for my project! I love that my stencil is re-usable!

I finished up my layout with Jillibean papers and stickers from my stash (I've been trying to use up my stash!), the title is cut from the Street Sign cartridge.

I hope you try out the stencil material! I loved working with it and I'm glad I have another package of it! :)  Happy crafting!

Just Ducky

Here's a simple two pager I did. Another "use the stash" layout. The paper is Echo Park. There were some stickers on the sticker sheet that came with the paper pack that I used here. I also used a cricut font, I believe from CM Cheerful Seasons. I tried to make a shadow of the font but somehow when it cut out, I had the size wrong. But I kind of liked the effect so I left it. :)  I also used one of Charlene's Button Box buttons (the bird on the left). Of course, EVERY layout I put pictures on this year must have a Charlene's button on it. :)

2 Sisters

Here is a "use your stash" layout, that I made a few months ago, just now getting it posted. :) The supplies are mostly from a Cocoa Daisy kit but I don't remember which month it's from.

My Aunt Deloris passed away in November of 2007, and my mom and I found this picture of mom and Aunt D. Mom already had a copy so I got to keep it. I am a little sad I hadn't gotten to see Aunt Deloris in those last years, and she never got to meet my son.  Aunt D was one of those rare people who understood that love is a verb, and she did it every day.

Cherish the Moment

Hmm, sorry for my shadow on this picture. I didn't realize it was quite so dark there.

This is a kit I made for some friends. I like making some sort of special embellishment for some of my kits, and in this case I used some Pink Paislee mistable scallop trim, the top layer was misted with a yellow mist that I made, while the bottom layer of trim was left natural.

The title comes from Sophisticated, the large frame is from Sentimentals and the smaller ornament on the bottom right is from Creative Memories Reminisce Accents. :)

For the Record

I've been TRYING to use up stash. :)  I'm still buying :(  but really I am trying not to buy as much and if I do buy, I try to do it so that I can make a few kits to sell to my friends who ask for them.

Echo Park has always been hard for me to resist, especially their collection packs! I loved "For the Record" the moment I saw it (and YES I bought the new For The Record 2, the blue one!). But it's been hiding in my stash since I bought it.

This picture of us was totally spur of the moment. My son thought our shadows were super cool, so I thought, what the heck and snapped a quick pic of it with my phone, not even taking time to make sure it was focused! Lucky for me, iphones are pretty good at quick focus in good lighting. ;)

So here's to using up stash!
