30 Days of Creativity - Day 14 10-minute-card

How to make a card in 10 minutes:
Choose scraps leftover from a kit
pick a challenge that technically ends in 15 minutes
Throw something together FAST

LOL... yeah I got it done today, but today ends in 30 seconds! So here it is!

The Challenge blog this is for is Inspirational Card Sketches!

30 Days of Creativity - Day 13 Gift Tag

Here's a simple gift tag I made. I used the Tim Holtz notebook embossing folder with some interesting two colored cardstock, a sizzix die "angel wings" and accu-cut dies for the tag and treble clef. The music patterned paper is 7gypsies. :)

30 Days of Creativity - Day 12 Frame

Oh man, I have been falling down on the job of this 30 Days of Creativity thing. I'm not giving up though, I'm going to keep working as best I can and maybe I can do better.

This frame was made with accu-cut and sizzix dies. No cricut *gasp*.  hee hee.  Actually it's sort of a DT project for Scrapaganza and will probably be part of a class. :)

Thanks for looking!

30 Days of Creativity - Day 11 Circle Meetup!

Ok so I'm out of town, staying with family. I'm also here because it's really close to the location of the Cricut Circle Meet Up in Des Moines. We were supposed to bring a layout of one of our favorite recipes, the dish itself to share, a decorated birthday hat and our Cricut Circle calling cards.

None of which I got done BEFORE I left home.

So I brought my cricut and stuff to dad's house... barely enough stuff to work with. Only to realize THAT MORNING that I did not have any mats for my cricut. NICE JOB MICHELE.  lol...

Fortunately my stepmom was in Des Moines and I called her and she stopped at walmart for me. So there I am, at 1:30 pm and I have to get a layout, a birthday hat and 30 calling cards done before 5pm. Oh and finish making my taco salad. Good thing the recipe was easy.

Well it all got done but it was all substandard work. I was very displeased with myself. Though, the layout wasn't too bad, it would have looked better if the recipe was at least printed on my printer. But oh well.

But hey, Shannon from Provocraft (whose birthday it was) gave us all a free gypsy! I had a blast meeting my fellow Circle members. :)

30 Days of Creativity - Day 10 photography

I am out of town most of this week and haven't gotten to craft much, but I am practicing with my camera! I enjoy practicing at my dad's house as they have numerous birds visiting, especially hummingbirds.

30 Days of Creativity - Day 9 Falling Leaves

Okay, these leaves came out so cool! I took them to Scrapaganza where I work and now they are hanging from the ceiling!

30 Days of Creativity - Days 7 & 8 Fall Leaves

I'm counting these as 2 days worth! I made over 100 of these.
I always save the acetate packaging from things, namely cricut cartridge boxes, trimmed down to the pieces I can store flat. I used alcohol inks and colored many many of these pieces of plastic, then stamped the new Tim Holtz leaves on them, and hand cut them out. On the average piece of re-purposed cricut box sized piece of acrylic I was able to get 3 of these leaves stamped on it. Like I said, I did well over 100 of them! Took me about 7 hours total, including cutting them out.

I will post a picture later of what these are being used for. :)

30 Days of Creativity - Day 5 Sisters

Well I was up till 3:30am last night crafting! Sometimes I get on that roll and can't stop or I lose momentum. Anyway, since I finished this after midnight, I'm counting it as todays project! LOL  The final DT layout I've done for this month's Scrappinista kit from Scrapaganza.

Thanks for looking! Off to spend the day hanging out with my kid!

30 Days of Creativity - Day 4 Mary Mary

Mary Mary Quite Contrary how does your garden grow?
Well here's the scrapbook pages I made yesterdays flowers for. The supplies are from this month's Scrappinista Scrapbook Club (you local gals get a sneak peak!) and the flowers that I used to make my new flower embellishments were from my stash, old prima and Kaiser paper flowers. I have a billion of them but I love this technique and hopefully I can use a bunch of them up this way!

The pictures are from my stepmom's (Mary) garden last november. I had a brand spanking new camera and a burning desire to learn how to take awesome pictures. So I explored her garden, which was surprisingly rich in things to photograph, in November!

You can still join in the 30 days of creativity! Start your day 1 right now! Check out Kendra's or Michelle's blogs for details. See my post below for how I made the flowers on this layout, both the big ones and the little ones were made with the same technique.

30 Days of Creativity - Day 3 flower embies

Well, it takes me FOREVER to scrap a layout sometimes, so I did not finish the project I started today - a two page spread. So, I hope it counts if I just post the little mini flowers I made for the layout! LOL  They have certainly taken me the most time so far!

They are also not my original idea. So credit given where it's due, I got the idea from Nicnac's blog.

Here are these adorable little flowers, made with stash paper flowers. I should have put a coin beside them, they are about the size of a  penny!

30 Days of Creativity - Day 2 Believe card

Well, here I was, home ALL DAY. And did I scrap at all? Not till 9pm, when I realized I needed to make something for the 30 day challenge. My excuse is that I am sick. Came down with a cold this weekend and pretty much spent all day laying about, feeling sorry for myself.  I am glad I got myself up to make even this simple card though. I do wish I'd made it last month as it is from scraps from last month's kit club from my LSS.

Here's hoping tomorrow I'm feeling more like real scrappin.

30 Days of Creativity - Day 1 Our House

Kendra Wiggens and Michelle Van Etten have decided to challenge themselves to be creative 30 days. They've invited everyone to join them, so click on their names to go to their blogs to let them know you want to participate!

Here is my first day project. I know Kendra and Michelle are a little further on but I only saw the challenge this morning and just joined in. So for me, today is day 1!

I used the new Echo Park paper company line called "Life is Good" for this layout. If you are local to the Quad Cities, this line of papers is the Scrappinista Scrapbook Club kit for September at Scrapaganza, so give them a call if you want to join in!

The Story Matters - August kit

Here are a few pages I've done so far with The Story Matters August kit! If you are looking for a monthly kit to work with, I highly recommend The Story Matters! It's so fun!

The Twinkle Toes page above was fun to make. When I was painting my toes, my son wanted his toes painted too. To spare my mother-in-law's sensibilities, I painted his toes in blue glitter. ;)

Kevin went to a little birthday party for Araceli, and all the kids got these goofy glasses/nose things. I tried to catch pictures of them being goofy with them, as both Kevin and Fred were cuttin' it up. Unfortuneately these were the best I got.

I caught this picture of Daddy being silly and trying to scare Kevin and knew I had to scrap it. After this picture, Kevin gave daddy quite the withering look! LOL  The kit had some felt in it, and I had fun coming up with different ways to  use the felt. It also had the coolest buttons from Charlene's Button Box, which are made exclusively for The Story Matters.  Check out Charlene's stuff though, you can get some of her other buttons at her etsy site, or if you are local, you can get them at Scrapaganza!

I can EASILY make another 3 pages from this kit, I just need to find the time to sit down and do them! LOL
