2 cards

These two cards were inspired by Dawn's Inspirational Card Sketches blog. It's an awesome card sketch site so check it out if you haven't already! (check out the blog candy!)

The anniversary card was the first one I made and I got flubbed while I was stamping it. I am still putting it here because I think it's just as important to remember my mistakes (I should have stamped before I glued everything down) as to show off my successes.

The top card is my official ICS entry because it wasn't flubbed like the other one! haha

Both cards were also made for challenges on the ScrapbookDreamer forum, for the February 5th Anniversary Party.

think pink!

I'm not big into pink usually, but Basic Grey's Bittersweet line of papers is so pretty, I decided to give it a try.

This card was created using the Card Sketch #83 at Sketches {by tamara} so enjoy and pop over to tamara's website and check out her awesome sketch and recipe challenges!

more BG Marrakech!

Here's another card I made saturday morning with the new BG Marrakech line. It was for a crop challenge card sketch by Dawn at scrapbookdreamer. Dawn has a wonderful sketch blog at Inspirational Card Sketches.

Those papers have a totally different feel than the Marrakech papers in these two layouts:

In the card above, I used cricut Storybook to cut out the little sentiment tag. In the "Love in Bloom" layout, I used cricut storybook on the large background shape, and the lotus flower was created from Home Accents. Plantin was used to make the grass borders on the Flamingos page.

I did another ATC lastnight! This one is for a contest over on ScrapbookDreamer.com and the contest is a 7gypsies romantic ATC. The art on the card I used in my wedding. Here it is in it's entirety:

Lotus Card

Here's another card with the BG Marrakech 6x6 paper pad, and the Marrakech brads. The shapes are all cut on my cricut; the lotuses are actually two of the same shape from the Home Accents cart welded together in Design Studio, and the sentiment shape is from Storybook, reshaped a little in DS.

This card was made using the wonderful sketch #4 at Inspirational Card Sketches. Thank you Dawn for the inspiration!

ATCs

I hadn't planned to get into doing these but I might do a few, especially since I have an idea for a series of them. ;)

Here is my first ever artist trading card. It's named "Marrakech" and just happens to have been made with the new BG Marrakech 6x6 paper pad. I am so IN LOVE with the Marrakech line.

My idea for the card series is to do a card inspired by each country that I have learned belly dance moves from... for instance, Marrakech is in Morocco, and I learned some shikkhat moves and a Tuareg dance. I will be able to make cards inspired by Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India just to name a few. :)

immediate gratification

One of the local scrappy stores got Basic Grey's Marrakech line in. I've been waiting for it since I saw the first preview! I am SO in LOVE with this line. I got all the papers, the chip stickers, the brads and the 6x6 pad. So far. I will be buying other stuff from this line as soon as I can get my greedy little hands on them. lol

I made my first project with the line, a card using pieces cut from the 6x6 pad. I made the card for a couple challenges over at ScrapbookDreamer. The black squares are stamped and clear embossed.

I had bought one of those storage boxes that hold 8 cricut cartridges in it. The boxes are pretty bland, just white and blue or orange. When I first got it I thought to myself I'd need to alter it to make it look pretty. So I did that today. I kept it simple because the box goes with me to crops sometimes. The tag can be removed and replaced should I decide to change which box holds what cartridges.

Tag Valentine

Here's a card I made using Dawn's Inspirational Card Sketch! The sentiment is a tag from a stuffed bear I bought my son and I recycled it for the card for a challenge over at ScrapbookDreamer forum. Now I have to decide who's going to get it. ;)

Cricut Layout

Here's a new layout!

I'm entering it into a contest at this site: Bitten By The Bug (I hope I'm not too late, I didn't see a cut off date). Scroll down for the F.R.E.D. contest. :)

I used my cricut to cut the black heart background as well as the white heart in the flower pile. It's the heart from the Storybook cartridge. The title is from Stone Script, and I used Design Studio to create the background heart mesh.

I also used flowers from Bazzill, Kaiser, and Prima, Kaiser brads, Best Expressions bling, metal photo corners from Embellish It, and coordinations red cardstock, and generic black and white cardstock. The photos are from our wedding!

I would also like to share the heart mesh! So if you'd like to download it, follow this link (you need the DS software and Storybook cartridge)!
