Flood 2013

Hello!

Here's a layout I did of the flood this year. This area gets flooded almost every year because of the Mississippi and the various creeks that handle all the storm water. Most of our floods, while annoying and costly to clean up, they are not emergencies like they used to be. The city I live in has gotten very good at handling floods, and most of the homes that got flooded regularly have since been torn down. This year though, a lot of the flooding was due to too much rain in a short time, and a lot of houses that never have a problem got flooded basements.  Some of the pictures (top right) are of the stormwater drainage/creek by my work parking lot, which kept getting a little flooded though not while I was parked there.

I recently finished using up all the Amy Tangerine papers from her first release, and this is one of the layouts. The cloud paper was perfect in my mind. ;)  I also used some thickers for the title.

I actually make most of this layout when I realized almost all my Amy Tangerine collection was used up, and this stuff was all that was left. I made the layout base then stuck it in my workbox to find a picture for later. When I went to a crop last saturday, I pulled this out first and found a picture to put on it, and a couple embellishments from my stash and some thickers and viola! all done.

No cricut this time! just stuff from my stash.  The flower was punched out with a flower punch from a soda can. I made the flower years ago and left it in my stash. lol

Maypole

I'm going to throw in a bonus post for today! that makes 2 posts in one day, gasp!  But I made this layout yesterday for the Cricut Circle weekend challenge to use the SUN somewhere in a project.

Note that I didn't use a single cricut cut in this layout. It is, in fact, one of the simpler layouts I've done lately. Though after I took this picture I ended up adding a few more of those tiny butterfly stickers elsewhere, as I thought the layout needed a few more.

However, this weekend I USED UP my stash of Amy Tangerine papers. yay! Sometimes I get tired of looking at certain paper collections and for some reason I had more than I needed of this one!
