a little burlesque

I took a burlesque workshop last year at my friend's dance studio. It was super fun! I worried a little about using the colors in the January Cocoa Daisy kit... I am not a big pink user since I have a boy, and I didn't know how I'd use both pink and the goldenrod color that was in the kit. But it turned out these pictures had all the colors I needed. :)  There was also a little dance show for everyone in the workshop, of mostly belly dancing.  I also used more buttons from Charlene's Button box!

untitled heritage layout

I really wanted to finish up using the december kit from Cocoa Daisy but I didn't have my heritage photos with me at the crop. So I just went ahead and made the layout anyway, I'm sure I can find a picture that will look good on it. Then I'll title it and stick it in my book. So here's what you can do with leftovers and no picture handy! lol  The red flower button is from Charlene's Button Box.

my gerber baby

I joked with some online mommy friends that my son looked like the gerber baby. He was darned cute, I think! He never ate gerber food though, lol!

Another layout from the Cocoa Daisy december kit! along with Charlene's Button Box buttons!

deer winter...

Deer winter! LOL
I apologize if it seems all I am working with at the moment is Cocoa Daisy kits... but it's true. That's all I'm working with at the moment. LOL... So, this layout was done with the December kit.

Do you remember the pages a while back that I misted with a wood grain mask? Well my friend Penny told me not to wash the mask off, but instead to "stamp" the mist ink onto another sheet of paper first and just set it aside for future use. Brilliant! This page background is the result of stamping the excess ink from the mask onto the kraft cardstock. I think it turned out pretty cool!

cha

Last year, the ladies that I worked with at Scrapaganza and I got to go to CHA - The Craft and Hobby Association trade show. It was awesome! These are a few snapshots from that trip. :)
The Cocoa Daisy December kit came with paper doilies. I misted one with water to soften it, then scrunched it into a "flower" shape. Then I misted it with some yellow mist and let it dry. Topped it with a button from Charlene's Button Box. :)

The layout is pretty simple but I was running out of steam at that crop that day. lol

county fair

I don't have much time to write! have to go to work. but this is made with Cocoa Daisy's December kit. There was a wood grain mask and I used it to mist the kraft paper background. I kind of like it! Still using Charlene's Button Box buttons!

happy dragon boy

Moving on! :) I thought Cocoa Daisy's December kit would be hard for me. :)  While I love looking at the color combos they chose, I struggle scrapping with them because I like color but most of all... the pictures I scrap tend to be colorful. I also am lazy... I just want to pull pictures out of my photo box and scrap them... I don't want to do fancy photo editing to make them fit the papers.

When I work with a kit, I play with the kit supplies, shuffling papers around, matching and and rearranging them to see what trips. I do love the gray/yellow combos that have been trendy the last few months but I surely didn't have many photos to go with it... till I found the golden yellow in this kit. The golden color with the grey went perfectly with these pictures. The dragon comes from the Birthday Cakes cricut cartridge.

And of course, Charlene's Button Box buttons! These grey ones match the background cardstock perfectly, and who says they have to contrast anyway? :)

The Next tim?

One night I was working hard at my craft table, inking something. I heard my son talking about working on his own crafting. When I looked up, I saw him using his little ink pad, stamps and a punch just like I was! It was so darned cute, and immediately the title of a scrapbook page popped into my head. lol Ever do that? Snap the pictures and know as you are doing it, what the scrapbook page will say? :)
I believe this is the last of my November Cocoa Daisy Kit!  and I'm still keeping up with my resolution to use up my buttons from Charlene's Button Box!  Thanks for stopping by. :)
