June Club stuff

This month's Scrapanista Scrapbook Club is JilliBean Soup! Fun papers to work with! At first I had my doubts... what was I going to do with farm theme papers? But I ended up having lots of fun with them.

This layout is simpler because my focus is on the spinner on the right. Below the green circle are photos, and then the green circle is attached with a brad and has a Tim Holtz hitch post attached to use as a handle for turning the spinner so that you can see the photos below it through the window I had cut out.

This is my artsy page. I got the idea for the distressed interior frame from a wonderful scrapper online... I am pretty sure who it is, but the info is on my flash drive so I'll have to get it later. :)  I think it was one of the SOUS ladies though.

I'm starting early to come up with gift ideas now, and this was an idea I had. I really like making clocks so it's just a matter of deciding who gets one this year. :)

ack, a storm! I'd better run for now.. Thanks for looking!

New stuff!

I need to catch up posting my projects! :)  So here's a few things I've done in the time since I last posted some projects.

These were projects from the club kit for May at Scrapaganza. This is the in-store club, however in the very near future, the Scrapanista Club kits will be available over the internet! woot!

May's club kit featured Fancy Pants Road Show collection. For me, that lead me to scrap the photos of my mom's wedding to my father. Since they'd divorced long ago, she'd given me the photos and her wedding album with it's memorabilia. It was almost a shotgun wedding as my mom was pregnant with me. They were willing, but it didn't last long, lol.
This second layout is of the wedding shower and has the little ring that was a favor in the Shower invitation, as well as two pages from my mom's album that listed the shower gifts, which I used as ephemera in the background. Since I used the original photos, they are not adhered down, just in clear photo corners. I used flower techniques that are in my flowers tutorial list (see the link in the side bar).

Thanks for looking! I'll be posting some more tomorrow hopefully. Only 2.5 days left at my day job, then I'm on to full-time mommyhood and scrapper!

Still Here!!! and The Story Matters!

Hey all! I truly am still around! with the nice weather came busy busy times! mostly with my son... Between the full time job and spending most of my free time out and about with the kid, I have been doing minimum scrapping lately. But that's all about to change!

I will be going full time mom after June 11th, as I am quitting the full time job! I will also be working part time at the local scrapbook store, Scrapaganza! I'm super excited about this, even though it's a scary huge change (I've been working for 21 years for the municipal government).

Blog Hop!
Scrapaganza's online kit club "The Story Matters" is having a blog hop! The June kits went on sale today and I have to say, they are awesome! Check them out at The Story Matters Blog and get started on the hop to win!

More TSM

Two more pages with The Story Matters kits from March and April combined. :)  May Day 2007 uses some G45 papers from the kit, plus some other scraps I had that I made into flowers. I used Sandy's tutorial on SOUS to make my own flower stem, plus layered a bunch of other flowers on as well.
Here's a closer look at the stem and the added flowers. The stem has the peachy colored mini roses that I made on it. The added flowers are red and turquoise.

This one is also from the TSM kits. I used flowers from the Pagoda cartridge, a cut from A Child's Year. I have forgotten where I found the heart shaped lock though.

Kevin in Wonderland

Hello all! So glad that hump day is over, just two more days till the weekend!

Here's a new layout. I did this with The Story Matters March kit. I used a Martha border punch for the accordian flower and another border on the pear paper. the background shape is from an accu-cut die at the LSS. Martha branch punch as well. The rabbit is from a cricut cartridge but darned if I can't remember which one! sorry! And Storybook for the title! I love the handmade buttons by Charlene.

Kevin was feeling poorly that day, we were at a family safety fair and we'd taken him since there's always kids stuff there, but he was coming down with something (which has been the case for the last 6 months) but he insisted on getting a picture with the Alice in Wonderland characters.

Thanks for looking! I have more TSM kit layouts to post soon!
